J T WING SCHOONER DETROIT 1948 Dossin Museum photo picture print for sale. This is a wonderful J T WING SCHOONER passing the DETROIT SKYLINE photo picture print for sale. The J T Wing as the last of the Great Lakes commercial sailing lumber ships on the Great Lakes. In this unique and rare Detroit photo from 1948 we see the Great Lakes Schooner as it heads towards Belle Isle where it became the original Dossin Great Lakes Museum in 1949. It was maintained as the maritime museum until 1956. Ground broke for the new Detroit Dossin Museum in 1956 and it opened in 1959. This is an exceptional photo of this historic Great Lakes schooner as it nears the completion of its last voyage.

The quality of the Jan Kaulins' photographic prints is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals.
